Over the years that a heating system installed, we decorate, take radiators off, replace leaking valves erc.  When a heating system is installed it is treated with a chemical to protect the radiators, boiler and pipework from corrosion.  Due to varous jobs undertaken as listed above, the chemical is usually lost through draining the system, resulting in iron oxide and sludge building up on the inside of pipework and radiators.  By having a system flush a strong non acidic chemical is added toyour heating system, after 48 hours of continual use of the heating system this is then flushed out one radiator at a time with a mains flush, this removes sludge and debris build up, increases surface temperature on radiators and all in all gives you a much more spontanious and efficient heating system, a system protector is then added to protect the system
